Ever wanted to make your own herbal extracts? It is easier than you think and now is the perfect time of year! In this hands-on class HerbanMomma, Kristin O’Malley will teach you how to make high quality herbal tinctures using some of the abundant herbs you can find all around you this summer.

Tinctures are easy to make, easy to administer and last for years. Transforming medicinal herbs and alcohol/vinegar/glycerin into concentrated extracts is a great way to preserve and use medicinal plants year round. This class will cover the methodology of tincture making; including fresh and dry plant extracts & glycerites from beginning to end including in depth discussions of the plants and their uses. Learn about several common herbs that are readily available to you and their medicinal properties, and then unleash your inner creative side or listen to what your body needs to create a tincture just for you. Students make and take home their handmade tincture.

Participants will make two different tinctures: a topical that can be used for making salves, lotions and bug sprays and an internal that can be added to water or juice to achieve desired effect. Everyone will get an instructional handout as well as two of their own tinctures to take home!
