Manayunk boasts 15 dramatic and useful public staircases, built more than a century ago to help workers climb back to their homes from industry along the waterfront. This one-day event will use temporary lighting, maps/tours, signage and performances to activate the Manayunk Stairs from morning till dark.

Our goals: put the staircases back onto the map, encourage their creative and practical uses and help build a movement to permanently place lighting systems on some or all of the staircases.
